Danica Patrick, The Bombardier Rookie-of-the-Year September 25, 2005 - The Bombardier Rookie of the year title this year went to Danica Patrick. The competition for this prestigious award took place between the sports three rookies, Tomas Enge (Panther Racing), Danica (Rahl Letterman Racing) and Jeff Bucknum (A.J. Foyt Enterprises). The individual awarded with this title also receives 50,000 dollars. Danica had a fantastic year, especially for a rookie. She has started at 3 poles and she has had seven top ten finishes out of fifteen races. Danica was also the first female to lap in the Indianapolis 500. At the Indianapolis 500 she finished fourth. These statistics are good for any racer in IRL but for a rookie they are amazing.
